As a matter of principle, the United Democratic Party (UDP) will continuously reach out to the Gambian people whether in election times or not. The most important issue for the party is to reach out and engage citizens on meaningful debates and matters affecting our dear country. Every member plays a vital role in promoting party principles, ethics, and standards in a bid to influence not only undecided voters but also those from other parties.
For the UDP, the overall campaign strategy focuses on the following areas but not limited to;
Campaign messages: campaign messages to those at the grassroots and to undecided supporters and voters shall be better tailored and sharpened to convince them to join the UDP as it is the only party that can transform The Gambia economically, socially, culturally, politically and technologically.
Campaign financing: The bedrock of all political campaigns Hence, all members should be encouraged to pay their dues and to redouble their efforts to raise funds for the party. A greater attention shall be paid to campaign as it is of strategic importance.
Communication strategy: In order to reach out to the critical mass of voters in the urban and in the rural areas, we must make efforts to strengthen and harmonize the communications strategies for enhanced media management and continuous political advertisement to support approved party events such as mass rallies, meetings etc. There will be an increased use of modern technology such as internet based Facebook, Whatsapp etc. The social media shall be deployed in other to make the political campaign more effective whilst at the same time reducing the cost of campaigns. The medium such a radios and TV are already essential components of UDP media strategy.
